Near the end of Reese's arrival scene when Sarah enters the department store driving the armored bank truck, she commands Reese to "come with me if you want to live". Sarah then proceeds to unload her handgun on the T-1000.The handgun used is a modified Beretta 93R, similar in styling (minus the heat-sink) to the modified Beretta 93R "Auto-9" used by RoboCop (1987).Also on passenger seat of Sarah's truck is a Beretta M82 rifle with explosive rounds powerful enough to kill terminators, as Sarah tells Reese that "those bullets will kill him (pops)".The M82 rifle was the basis for the OCP Cobra Assault Cannon used in RoboCop (1987). Because the Cobra Assault Cannon (also) delivers explosive rounds, RoboCop (1987) also uses this weapon to easily destroy the seemingly indestructible ED-209.The two similar weapons used in Terminator Genisys (2015) may have been a nod and slight 'return' nod to 1987's RoboCop (1987), where the Orion Pictures trailer for Robocop used numerous portions of Brad Fiedel's movie score from 1984's Terminator (1984).
