When Mr. Harvey is offering Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) a job, he says that Jimmy would still be playing if he "would have laid off the booze", hinting at Mickey Mantle's career -- even mentioning that a knee injury was to blame, as Mantle had suffered.
