Before the project was a reboot, Dan Aykroyd mentioned Eliza Dushku, Anna Faris, and Alyssa Milano as potential Ghostbusters in a third movie. Milano would end up appearing in the video game, Ghostbusters (2009), and Dushku has mentioned she is a fan of the series (a photo of her dressed up in a Ghostbusters costume can be found online). Faris was later considered for the final project, as well as Jennifer Lawrence and Rebel Wilson, all for unspecified roles.
