Most of the Jeeps used during the on-shore scenes are M151 MUTTs. which were first deployed in 1960. WW2 Jeeps have the classic vertical slat radiator covers. MUTTs were the first and only Jeep variant with horizontal radiator slats. MUTTs were used extensively during the Vietnam conflict and replaced by the HUMVEE in the 1980s. MUTTs were taken out of service and virtually disappeared, as they were declared unsafe by the US Department of Transportation and deemed unfit for civilian usage. Most were destroyed by the military but some survived to be sold to history enthusiasts and collectors. MUTTs are rarely ever seen outside of military historical displays and parades.
