In his memoir, "If Chins Could Kill," actor Bruce Campbell explains that the rough cut of the film featured a scene in which the film's main antagonist, Louis Strack Jr. (played by Colin Friels, spreads gold coins across the covers of his bed, strips naked and writhes atop the money while laughing maniacally in a fetishistic ecstasy. The scene was deemed "too disturbing" by test audiences and cut from the film, which baffled Campbell who argued that was its purpose. Campbell also confesses this was his personal favorite scene in the film.
