Gary Oldman actually bears a facial resemblance to the real Joe Orton (although Orton was taller and slightly better-built), but Alfred Molina bears absolutely no facial resemblance to the real Kenneth Halliwell, although his paranoia and inferiority complex are supposed to be accurately portrayed.
