One passenger seeing a creature on the wing of a plane, and no one believing them, is the main plot point of Ai confini della realtà: Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (1963), which starred William Shatner -- and its updated version in the Twilight Zone movie, where John Lithgow played the part.
