Roy Kinnear (Planchet) did his own riding stunts, as the production company could not find a stunt double. This is unfortunate, as when they filmed the third Richard Lester Musketeer film in the trilogy in 1988-89, Roy Kinnear died on camera from falling from a horse. This so upset Michael Constantine that he refused to continue with the movie.
