Martin Sheen and Michael Douglas later co-starred in Il presidente - Una storia d'amore (1995). Both actors had played American presidents in different projects: Douglas plays a fictional leader in the 1995 comedy while Sheen portrayed John Kennedy in Kennedy (1983)- main subject of JFK - Un caso ancora aperto (1991), which is directed by Oliver Stone and narrated by Sheen.
