Peter first realizes that Venom is Eddie when the Symbiote peels back to reveal his face. Peter also didn't realize Venom was Eddie until the latter unmasked himself in Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #300 and Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 1 #37.
