Contrary to rumour, the actual missing negative of the 'When Love has Gone' still has not been found as of December 2022. Brian Henson stated to Variety that what was was actually discovered in the film vault was an interpositive print of the scene, which he described is "...as good as a negative" (the interpositive is used for color timing and other technical aspects". This is where the restored footage for the 2022 Disney+ cut has come from. The actual negative is still missing but digital restoration of the interpositive has meant the film had now been restored to its original length in time for its 30th anniversary.
