Its been noted that this official Carry On film shares a surprising number of similarities to the later James Bond film "The Living Daylights" in 1987, that was also made at Pinewood Studios. Apart from sharing the same countries being visited in the film stories, most obvious is that The Living Daylights has a milkman character with exploding milk bottles, the same style as previously seen in "Carry On Spying". This raises a fan theory that the early straight Bond and Spy films, inspired a spoof film, which in turn inspired a straight James Bond film. Both film series shared the same studios, crew, technicians and actors, so may not be entirely a coincidence.
