Sanjay Leela Bhansali first offered this film to Manisha Koirala but due to some misunderstandings, she couldn't do the film. Bhansali then vow to not to work with her ever again. Interestingly, he was developing another script idea with Manisha & Aamir Khan during Khamoshi- the musical days.
