The brief flashback of Luke and Leia sparring was filmed using Billie Lourd standing in for Carrie Fisher and Lukaz Leong standing in for Mark Hamill. Outtakes from Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983) were used by the filmmakers to superimpose Luke and Leia's faces over the actors.
