There are references to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" scattered in the Minions' gibberish, in scenes associated with fire hydrants. Stuart calls the fire hydrant he falls for "Papagena" and later the tune Kevin whistles when he releases the spray from underneath a fire hydrant resembles the first line of "Der Vogelfanger bin ich Ja" from the same opera.
