In the warehouse scene, Douglas gets out of the car and Snyder looks right at him. Snyder later reveals several personal details about Douglas indicating he knows him well. i.e. he knows Douglas works for the fbi and hates martial arts. It's clear that Snyder and Douglas have history, yet somehow Snyder doesn't know Douglas at the beginning of the film.
