Richard Stanley had reportedly jokingly told the film's production designer to burn the set down. When Stanley disappeared after he was fired, security was tightened in case he was actually trying to sabotage the project. Stanley later revealed that he'd had a total emotional breakdown, and retreated to a remote farm near Cairns to recover.
