Miguel de Cervantes published the original "La española inglesa" (non-official translation: "The English Spaniard/Spanish woman") as one of the twelve novels compiled as a series called "Exemplary novels". They were written between 1590 and 1612 and later printed in 1613 by Juan de la Cuesta in Madrid.
