In September 1990, Shashi Kapoor stated that the film was at priced at 85 lakhs per territory. This price was unheard of in 1990. Shashi stated he was hoping it would make a crore and a half to break even. Ajooba was a lively frothy and bubbly kind of film. Children will love the film. Shashi saw no reason why the film would not work. And best of all he had Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, the biggest star of Indian cinema. A Amitabh flop does 1 crore per territory, super hit films of other actors does not even touch those numbers. If Aaj Ka Arjun does well, it would make a major difference to Ajooba's market value. If Aaj Ka Arjun flops,it would most definitely effect Ajooba's market.
