The Half-Note Jazz Club is obviously modeled on the famous Village Vanguard Jazz Club in NYC, from the famous red awning out front to the steep stairway lined with photos of the jazz greats that have played there. Interestingly enough, the real Half-Note Jazz Café closed its doors for good in 1975.
