Paul Gleason and producer Joel Silver have both worked with the late writer-director John Hughes. Hughes directed Gleason in Breakfast Club (1985) and Un amore rinnovato (1988). Silver had produced La donna esplosiva (1985) which John Hughes wrote and directed.
