Filming locations were all in South Australia and included the large remote South Australian country town of Ceduna which is about 800 kilometers 497 miles] west of the South Australian capital city of Adelaide. Ceduna, the film's main town filming location, is situated at the start of the famous Nullarbor Plain that stretches almost to Perth in Western Australia. Other South Australian filming locations included Penong, a tiny country town hideaway for a handful of escapees from the rat race; a seductively empty famous surfing site of Cactus Beach; Streaky Bay which is about 115 kilometers [= 72 miles] east of Ceduna on the Great Australian Bite; and Port Augusta, a busy little town at the top of the Spencer Gulf, which is about 300 kilometers [= 187 miles] north of Adelaide, the latter where the film also shot at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
