When MGM released its remake of Rose Marie (1954), the studio ceased further distribution of its earlier film versions so as not to compete with the remake's box office take. The 1928 silent film disappeared entirely, and is now considered lost. The 1936 version turned up on television with a new title, Indian Love Call (1936), to minimize confusion, as the more recent 1954 version was also leased to local television stations.
