The bonus material from the Blu-ray release contains a clip of David in his lab titled Alien: Covenant - Advent (2017), where he explains his experiments with the black mutagen in creating new lifeforms. By combining various parts from Neomorphs with Shaw's organs (possibly her mutated eggs), and using the mutagen as a catalyst, he created his Xenomorph eggs.
