Director of photography Dante Spinotti also filmed Manhunter - Frammenti di un omicidio (1986), which was the first adaptation of the novel "Red Dragon". Brett Ratner, who had previously worked with Spinotti on The Family Man (2000), wanted him to shoot this movie so much that he delayed principal photography just so Spinotti could finish shooting Pinocchio (2002).
