In the film, Sunny Starscout is labeled a criminal for helping the unicorn Izzy Moonbow escape from hostile earth ponies. Her childhood friend Hitch Trailblazer makes it his life's goal to capture Sunny alive to have her pay for her supposed crime. However, he follows her to locations that are way outside his jurisdiction, and abandons his other duties in the process. His obsession with her is never fully explained.
