Originally, Fiona Lewis was harnessed and spun around as blood sprayed everywhere from blood tubes in her hair and clothing for her death scene. But after 38 takes because Brian de Palma wanted to get the scene "right," she was nauseous and bruised from being dropped to the floor at the end each time. She finally refused to do any more takes. So de Palma had F/X artist Rick Baker created a full body dummy to film more shots. When Lewis found out, she was furious and asked why they didn't use a dummy in the first place instead of putting her through such misery.
