In the middle of season one, Louis' story moves through the era of Prohibition which occurred during the 1920s and early 1930s. During Prohibition, when the use of alcohol in public establishments and private consumption was prohibited, speakeasies and underground bars popped up to fill the void. In order to get past the door, you had to "speakeasy" and know the right phrase that would not draw unnecessary attention.
