When Truman talks Marlon into playing hooky with him, Marlon comments, "You're gonna get both our asses fired, you know that?" Unknown to Truman, Marlon isn't talking about their fake jobs as an insurance salesman and vending machine operator. He's talking about their actual jobs as participants on "The Truman Show". Since Truman is deviating away from protocol, Marlon knows the show's crew will be very unhappy and probably cancel the show.
