In September 1990, Shashi Kapoor stated " All the kindness shown to me by all my artiste's is very touching. I am very fortunate that none of my artistes charged me a single penny. Nothing was given to Amitabh and Rishi. Shammi Kapoor, Dara Singh,Sonam,Dimple, Tej Sapru worked for practically peanuts. Dimple even got her sister to make some outfits for the film and did not charge me anything. I am very grateful for that. Mind you, now Amitji has the rights for Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. This will be his payment for his work. I pray the film will be a huge hit so Amitabh can reap the harvest. If Ajooba becomes a hit, i will definitely pay the rest of the cast".
