Although far from being a kid-friendly film, the movie ironically opens and closes with nostalgic references to childhood. In the opening scene, we see Eddie as a kid performing for family at Thanksgiving dinner. In the final joke , Eddie impersonates his father recollecting his own childhood experiences.
