While in the animated classic it's implied that Geppetto learned of Pinocchio's presence on Pleasure Island in some way by Honest John & Gideon or/and the local villagers, in this live-action version Geppetto finds it out thanks to Sofia the Seagull due to the fact that Pinocchio, in this case, doesn't encouter the aforementioned two crooks a second time to take him to the coach for Pleasure Island.
