The diner set on Mars overlooking the pyramid is reminiscent of the diner set in "North by Northwest" by Mount Rushmore. Firstly, the positioning of the diners is similar and there are similar 3-a-breast paneled windows. Secondly, both sets overlook the key landmark where their films have their finales (the pyramid for "Total Recall" and Mount Rushmore for "North by Northwest"). Lastly, it would make sense that the recall scientists were inspired by "North by Northwest" as it is THE undisputed film on unwitting-Everyman-turned-spy which is the implanted memory sold to Quaid at the clinic.
