When Brian and Mike stop at the liquor store and stick their heads inside the refrigerators to cool down, this is a very common tactic done by a lot of police officers in hot and humid areas. In fact the bulletproof vest will actually stick and cause "burns" to the skin from the amount of moisture that gets between the vest and the skin. A lot of police officers now have a small "duct" or "hose" they attach to one of the A/C vents inside their police vehicle which they stick down their shirt while driving to cool down between calls.
