Joshua tells his grandfather that Superman isn't real. Joshua's mother is played by Dana Delany who voices Superman's love interest Lois Lane in numerous DC animated works. Batman is also mentioned in the film. In addition to Delany's Lois briefly dating Bruce Wayne, she voiced Bruce's ex-fiance Andrea Beaumont in Batman - La maschera del fantasma (1993).
