Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason were the only members of Pink Floyd who attended the film's premiere, at the Empire Theatre in London's Leicester Square on July 14, 1982 - the fourth and final member Richard Wright had been fired from the band, though he returned for the The Wall tour in the following months. Mason did not attend the New York premiere a few days later. Gerald Scarfe was in town but was off playing pool, since he couldn't "bear to see the film again."
