The enhanced effects used for the Death Star explosions in the 1997 re-releases of this movie and Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983) feature the "Praxis Wave", so named for its first use by Industrial Light & Magic in Rotta verso l'ignoto (1991) for the explosion of the Klingon moon, Praxis.
