Les parapluies de Cherbourg
While Mia is writing her one woman play, the protagonist's name, Genevieve, is seen in the script. When Mia gives Sebastian a tour of the Warners back lot and points out the window "Casablanca", the storefront underneath is a recreation of the umbrella store from "Cherbourg". In the epilogue sequence, they dance by a gas station set. The building is white with red stripes. This is a reference to the Esso station at the end of Cherbourg. Both films end with a couple that didn't work out meeting up by chance after a year or more when they have established their separate lives.
