A conscious entity has traveled from space aboard an Earth ship, with the ability to manifest people's fears; both ships feature a mysterious orb of questionable nature; certain events damage the crew's ship, and cause them to be cut off from home base; in the end, there is an explosion on both ships, with several crew members escaping in a pod.
