When Detective Mandy is escaping on the boat, but looks back to see Kato the Great Zombie Hunter running in slow motion, being chased by zombies, it is a parody of the death of Sgt. Elias in Platoon (1986), including the slow motion running, repeated falls and final lunge with the arms in the air.
