The Glitterball
Plot about children who discover a small friendly alien and have to help it communicate with its mothership so it can return to its home planet before the military capture it. The scene where the alien makes a mess in the kid's kitchen while eating all the family's food, and the scene where the alien communicates with the children using an ordinary household electronic device.
