At the end, the Romanov execution appears to be only done with shooting pistols, in reality (as proven by an innocent Bolshevik witness) some were also finished off with bayonets, rifle butts, close shots to the head etc. (since the duchesses had jewelry sewn-into their clothing which made the bullets ricochet or not penetrate much). (course the filmmakers couldn't depict much of this violent act in the film).
