After the demonstrators have been attacked by the Cossacks, Pasha Antipov goes to Lara seeking a place to hide. He has been struck by a Cossack's saber and has a hideous gash down the side of his face. However, Pasha also wears spectacles. Had he truly been struck by a saber, his glasses would be bent or broken but they are intact. Obviously, the movie makers just applied a fake scar with makeup and then had the actor put his glasses back on.
