According to the newspaper articles Marcus finds while joined with Skynet's main computer (1:24), Marcus was sentenced to death for the first-degree murder of his brother, Sam, by brutal stabbing for reasons Marcus never explained to the end. While talking to Dr. Kogan in his prison cell awaiting execution in 2003, he said he is responsible for the death of his brother and two police officers during what could be assumed was during the commission of a violent crime like robbery. The article could have been a cover up to justify any questions over Marcus' missing body since he is donating it to science. (Cyberdyne)
