In all the shots of Sebastian conducting the sea orchestra, his baton changes from a brown stick to an all-white baton, to finally a wooden baton with a black grip. If one pauses at the final shot of Sebastian during the concert, he drops his baton aside the moment he gasps when Ariel is absent.
