Sam (Robert De Niro) mispronounces Hereford (the location of the SAS's HQ) as "Heer-fud". The correct British way is "Heh-re-fud". However, there are many Herefords in the USA (Texas, Arizona, California, and a few in New England) and many of them are pronounced in Sam's way.
