In the woodcutter's story after the bandit's final attack on the Samurai and the wife screams; when the Bandit falls down near the Wife there is a considerable gap between them. However in the next immediate cut which is a two-shot; the orientation of the bandit's body changes and he is now closer to her with his right hand practically touching her right knee.
