After taking control of the plane, it is shown in a steep dive with a left spin. Peter gives Fathom instructions to turn the "wheel" HARD LEFT and pull back on throttle. She's already in a left spin, turning the yoke "HARD LEFT will only increase the spin rate. Next he says, push FORWARD (on the yoke) don't be afraid of diving... she's already in a dive, there is no need to increase speed at that point. Pushing forward helps recover airspeed and prevent stalling. It doesn't help when already in a dive.
