When they first steal the station wagon, Sarah tells the Terminator to drive the speed limit to avoid being pulled over. Later, at night, the Terminator is driving without headlights. Despite being able to 'see everything' due to his infrared vision, driving at night without headlights is a great way to attract the attention of police.
