Poisoning with polonium would not result in people passing out, as the nerds are seen doing at the party. They also would not recover as fast as seen in the movie, and making them vomit (as they are seen doing outside after the party) would have no effect if the polonium poisoning was so advanced (which would take days or more) as to make them lose consciousness.
